Elected with the Mayor during voting season, the Sheriff is an expert at his trade, reading people. A mere glance at his target tells the Sheriff everything he needs to know: whether or not the target is suspicious. He knows all of the law abiding citizens and seeks to take down the only criminals that elude him to this day, the Godfather and the Arsonist.

As another Mafia is lynched, the Sheriff notices a man looking grim. He trudges back to his house, grumbling. The Sheriff notices this, and, in turn, stays up late. As the 12 strokes dong throughout the Town, the Sheriff sneaks up to his house. Hiding in wait, he notices the man creep out at one o'clock, and walk into a random house. Then he returns back to his own. As morning comes, the same person in the house is dead. The Sheriff announces his findings and stops another Mafia from killing. Today was a good day.

Stats

Role Name: Sheriff

Role Alignment: Town Investigative

Abilities: Check one person each night for suspicious activity.

Attributes:

Goal: Lynch every criminal and evildoer.

Note: The GodfatherArsonist, and a Werewolf (on a night with no full moon) have Detection Immunity. They will appear to be not suspicious to you.

Strategy

- Just like the Investigator, the Sheriff uses their powers of deduction to lynch all Mafia, Arsonists, and Serial Killers.

- If your target was framed, they will show up as a member of the Mafia.

- Unlike the Investigator, the Sheriff can determine whether his target is evil or not; which is better than the vague answers received by the Investigator.

- If you're lucky enough to find the Serial Killer or a member of the Mafia early in the game, it would be best to stay silent and keep it in your will until about day 3. The Town will think you are an Executioner if you accuse someone anytime before. Do write your findings in your will though, in case you die in the meantime.

- Careful, the Godfather, Werewolf (on a non-full moon night), and the Arsonist appears as "Not suspicious" to the Sheriff, so work in conjunction with any Investigators to narrow the pool of suspects.

- Careful, framed players will appear to be a member of the Mafia, so never be too quick to judge who is evil or not. If you aren't sure, check the same person the next night. Although you may be wasting a night in which you could investigate someone else, you can confirm if the target is actually a Mafia or Town member.

- Careful, if a Witch controls you, you will be given inaccurate information, so recheck your target the next night.
