If the Serial Killer doesn't visit anyone at night, they will appear "not suspicious" to the Sheriff if they are interrogated on that night.

This could make the Serial Killer a more strategic role because they would have to guess whether or not the Sheriff is tracking them down.

    • I don't think it's needed, but I do like that idea!

    • not bad

    • I believe that it's needed because the SK can't exactly figure out who's who, thus, they have no allies. To make things worse, if the Sheriff finds them, they're done for in the likely event of the Sheriff exposing this information. Plus, the SK's cover is blown instantly if they kill someone who role blocked them. (As long as the Escort/Consort wrote down who they visited in their will.)

The Serial Killer is in a desperate need of a buff, and this may be the first step to balancing this role.

    • Yeah, this buff is needed.

Edit: Actually maybe this buff isnt needed.

    • Here's why this isn't needed: The SK derives practically all its power from being able to kill every night. In fact, it's the only Neutral Killing role to do so- Werewolf kills every other night, Arso needs to douse, Juggernaut can't kill night one, etc.

If the SK didn't kill every other night, it'd be functionally equivalent to a weaker werewolf. All this does is nerf the SK. And on top of that it nerfs the Sheriff as well– the Sheriff can find very few evil roles, the SK– one of the strongest NKs– being one of them.

    • You got a point.

    • Arsonist - Has permanent detection immunity. (Making them invisible to the Sheriff.)

Werewolf - Appears NS every non-full moon night. (Making them invisible to the Sheriff half of the time.)

Juggernaut - Has permanent detection immunity. (Making them invisible to the Sheriff.)

Serial Killer - Has absolutely no detection immunity whatsoever, making them a sitting duck if the Sheriff finds them.

Additionally, if an Escort/Consort role blocks the Serial Killer at any time, their cover is likely exposed.

So, how about this as a buff. If the Serial Killer abstains from killing at night, they will appear NS to the Sheriff that night, and their next attack will be a powerful one, which may allow them to eliminate threats such as the Godfather, Arsonist, and other enemies with a defense.

See Addfires reason for the buff being pointless.

As for the powerful attack, just no. This would make it a worse ww.

You also got to note that the serial killer like some other neutral killing roles can have numbers. Although this isn't the case in most games, there are still those games with a lot of one neutral role. With the serial killer having that many kills in one day is devastating. It's very hard to weed-out serial killers with that many of them.

    • can the buff just be that serial killers can kill more than one person in just one night. Like once per game, the sk would be able to kill maybe two people in one night.

    • ^ or maybe the sk wld b able to rampage once per game.

    • I like the non visiting detection immunity. It is really hard for so to win.

but really? is that not a bit too similar to werewolf's rampage? because killing 2 people in one night is only possible with arso (if you don't die before you ignite), WW (rampage), pestilence (rampage), hex master (if he hexes everyone AND stays alive), and vet (guard). is that not enough killing on both sides?

Also, rampaging once a game makes it sound like a slightly weaker werewolf so overall, SK doesn't need a buff
