    Main

    NameCoroner

    Alignment: Town Investigative

Description: You are a retired officer brought out of the shadows to investigate the mysterious crimes of Salem.

    Attack: None.

    Defense: None.

Information; Priority 5 | Unique | Control Immunity

    Abilities:

    • Inspect a body to determine the role.

    Attributes:

    • Inspections take 1-2 days after the selection to accomplish.
    • You cannot be controlled.

    Mechanics:

    • You may select one dead player at night.
      • You may change your decision afterwards, but this will cancel your progress.
        • The aforementioned affect is similar with a revive from a Retributionist.
      • The time wherein the inspection itself occurs ignores roleblocking.
    • Inspecting cleaned, stoned, or vampiric bodies takes one night.
    • If the body is a role with basic defense or higher, this will take two nights to inspect.
    • When the inspection is complete, you will know the original role of the player.
      • If your target was a disguised Disguiser, their target’s role will be shown.
    • Selecting the target again after the inspection will, one night after the selection, reveal the killer and their role.

    Investigative Results

Sheriff: You can't find any evidence of wrongdoing. Your target seems innocent.

Investigator: Doctor, Disguiser, Serial Killer, Poisoner, or Coroner.[1]

Consigliere/Witch/Coven Leader: Your target is a retired law enforcer with a medical license. They must be a Coroner.[2]

    Objective

Goal: Lynch every criminal and evildoer.

Wins With: Town; Survivors; Guardian Angels; Pirate

Must Kill: Mafia; Coven; Serial Killers; Werewolf; Arsonists; Vampires; Plaguebearer/Pestilence; Juggernaut

    Messages

Selection1: You have decided to inspect [target]’s corpse.

Selection2: You have instead decided to inspect [target]’s corpse.

Within Inspection: You are examining your target.

Reveal of Role: You have determined that [target]’s role was [role].

Reveal of Killer: You have determined that [target] was killed by [assailant].

    Footnotes

    1. Change to Sheriff/Executioner/Werewolf/Poisoner/Coroner?
    2. This sounds shitty.

    Direct Argument

This is a counter towards Janitor, Medusa, and the Vampires.

That's... interesting. Considering how powerful this is I don't think this role should go this way.

That is so incredibly powerful. The way this works is not the way it should work. This should work similar to Retributionist, considering how powerful it is.

Imagine of you could revive someone every 3 nights. That would be OP, right?

Instead, lock it to 1-2 charges.

    • oh hecc I forgot the main idea of the role. The following was added:

      • When the inspection is complete, you will know the original role of the player.
        • If your target was a disguised Disguiser, their target’s role will be shown.

I inquire that you (Duwiiton) respond again (or edit your response), since I somehow forgot to add that.

    • So, as far as I can tell, this is a janitor and medusa hard counter, which medium already does pretty well, overall this role would be completely useless in a game without either (talking about all any/custom) should also be a TI, as it foccuses on gathering info

    • You shouldn't really be adding post mortem lookouts (as I see that you can view who killed your target) as it's a very harsh counter to the Neutral Faction and individual killers. I'd suggest removing that before doing anything else

    • This is one of the roles where if certain roles (Medusa, Janitor, Vampire) Aren’t in the game, the role is flummery.

      So Scrap
