    Name: Cryomancer

    Alignment: Coven Evil

    Lore: no lol

    Attack: Basic

Defense: None (basic auto-vest with Necronomicon)

    Unique Role: Yes

    Priority: 1

Abilities: Choose someone to freeze during the day

    Attributes:

Freezing only kills the target if they use their ability

Your target will know they are frozen

With the Necronomicon, you will look innocent to Sheriff

With the Necronomicon, you get basic defense until you are attacked

With the Necronomicon, your target will not know they are frozen

    Mechanics:

During the day you can click the sun icon. From that menu you can choose who you will freeze at night. Freezing causes the target to die if they use their ability, forcing them to not do anything. They will be told at the start of the night they are frozen. With the Necronomicon you will get an ice barrier, blocking one attack. Your targets will also not know they are frozen when you have the Necronomicon

    -Investigative Results-

    Sheriff: Suspicious (Innocent with Necronomicon)

Investigator: Escort, Transporter, Consort, Hypnotist, Cryomancer

Consigliere/Witch: Your target blocks people using ice. They must be a Cryomancer.

    Goal: Coven goal

Wins With: Coven, Neutral Evil, Neutral Benign, Pirate

Must Kill: Town, Mafia, Neutral Killing, Neutral Chaos

    Anything Else:

    • The first thing I can say is that the necronomicon is a bit much. For one, the basic defense and detection immunity is basic, but also adds too much to the table. I'd say that it's not a deal breaker, but only keeping the last buff would be better seeing as it's strong enough by itself

As for the actual concept driving this role; pretty solid. It's original, it's simple enough to be slotted into the game casually. One thing is that this seems more like an MS than a CE. However, this is probably fine seeing as the necronomicon basically transforms the role into a killing machine, which is more fitting. Really not much more to say here

Everything else is consistent, solid, yeah. Consig is ok. I'm not 100% sure about priority yet

I was thinking the priority should be 1 because thats standard for day abilities right? Like jailor, pirate and Mayor

So should I change the Necronomicon buff to not have the basic defense?

      Oh so like a Witch?

      Ok?

      Attributes:

That is... Interesting. I think most people make ice like roleblock, but this is an alternative for roleblocking, which put the role to be really tricky to play against. So mind games, I like it very very much.

Your target will know they are frozen

      m i n d g a m e s y e s p l e a s e.

With the Necronomicon, you will look innocent to Sheriff

      Normal

With the Necronomicon, you get basic defense until you are attacked

      A temporary basic defense, sure.

With the Necronomicon, your target will not know they are frozen

Umm... Even though it doesn't look much but that OP. Probably should change this to "Prevent self-visiting" or something else. But its kinda hard counter certain roles so, rejected my own idea lol. Or you should change it into Cryomancer can visit someone at night to kill someone. So the Coven still have KPN. KPN is important for Coven member so yeah

      Again, change the Necronomicon effect.

Question, does Cryomancer kill Medium talking to Undead and Jailor talking to his target?

    • No. Talking is not seen as an ability. Jailor executing will kill them though.

So basically a role block with a chance of kill? That doesn't seem too good to me. Perhaps making the freeze last more than 1 night?

Right. Though I think the message sent should be priority one, but the actual attack priority 5.

    • So:

(I do not drink or condone drugs, don't do either pls)

This is a case of a role which is only good with synergy yet tedious on it's own accord.

Imagine this: The Veteran is a tasty sub and the staple of a certain way to eat a food. Imagine it is a sub sandwich. Traditional and effective.

Medusa is a new twist on the sub: A tasty sub with buns of chicken tenders and has sauce and cheese inside. This is a KFC Double Down Sandwich.

Now, Double Down Sandwich is really good on it's own and has added elements from the sauce, being cleaning, and a gimmick that is tasty and flavorful of chicken buns.

However, it's insanely good at late-night bars. Stoners and drunks love this sandwich because it's light, fun, and savory compared to the traditional which has really good flavors.

      Now mind this:

People prefer the double down as it doesn't focus on the flavor itself, but on savoriness which tremendously helps as you can't taste the flavors while drunk. The ability to eat this while you are making bad decisions is not unlike how Medusa can be given victims by the Coven Leader.

This is how like Veteran must carefully use his abilities and is quite powerful as you get more value off of a kill, but Medusa can spam it and has lesser value. However, the necronomicon, just as chicken buns, removes the whole tedious part of waiting for a moment to strike. Instead, it's always going to taste good. You don't have a flavorless bun on your hands.

This role is just quite annoying to play against. It is similar to just adding ketchup on top of everything, overpowering everything and making the game feel more tedious than being roleblocked.

The coven leader, just like alchohol, sure does taste good with ketchup foods. However, everyone else will be disturbed by how you just ruined the meal they just made you.

Unfortunately, where as the Double Down has chicken buns which give it a whole new level, the cryomancer's whole gimmick is a buttload of ketchup. The whole idea is the new tomato flavor, but the necro is overkill and doesn't add anything new whatsoever.

So I have a few questions. If you freeze a target, for an example a Vigilante. If Coven leader controlls the Vigi to use his ability to shoot someone, does the freeze activate and kill the Vigi?

Because if it does its just automatic kills for you and the CL untill the CL gets the Necronomicon and starts blasting everwhere. Then you would be just freezing random people.

I honestly think this role is good and has potential. It is also original and that is something I appreciate, but it might be bit too op, just a little bit.

My solution to this situation is to give Cryomancer a limited amount of freezes, for example 4. And with Necronomicon you would gain unlimited freezes.

      Thats my opinion.

Meeeow, Im out. Tuna wont wait.
